Jiangsu University of Science and Technology is an engineering-oriented university with distinctive characteristics which has formed a well-established talent training system of bachelor, master and doctoral degree levels. It is now one of the key construction universities of Jiangsu Province and is a university of recognized excellence by the Ministry of Education of China. It is also one of the cultivated universities of excellent engineers of the MOEC. In 2016, JUST successfully passed the Undergraduate Education Evaluation by the MOEC.

With years of devoted work in education, the University has developed into a significant education institution for China’s major industries. Its academic strength in areas of naval architecture, marine engineering and sericulture study is widely recognized and has specially helped to train thousands of highly qualified professionals and researchers for China’s shipbuilding industry. In addition to its contribution in shipbuilding areas, the University has also achieved distinguished accomplishments in ocean and sericulture studies.Currently,JUST’s engineering is listed in the top 1% of Essential Science Indicators(ESI). The University now has about 23,129 undergraduates over 3,687 postgraduates and 501 full-time overseas students actively engaged in multiple discipline areas.

In 2012, for the purpose of internationalization, the University started to recruit international students. Other than our academic strength, with the understanding that for many international students, living in China is a completely new experience, we have a dedicated support team that offers ongoing service to all international students. Currently, in addition to English-delivered programs that are specially designed for international students, all existing programs are open to international applicants, the delivering language of which is mandarin Chinese.
