Study in Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities

Inner Mongolia University for Nationalities was founded in 1958. In 2000, the former Inner Mongolia Normal University, Inner Mongolia Medical College and Zhelimu Animal Husbandry College were merged and formed. It is a key construction university in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the National Ethnic Affairs Commission jointly built the university. It is also a branch of the basic capacity-building project of the central and Western Universities during the 13th Five Supporting colleges and universities. After 60 years of construction and development, the school has developed into a comprehensive university for Nationalities with complete disciplines, abundant teachers, relatively perfect teaching facilities, diversified forms, excellent teaching quality and distinctive school-running characteristics. It has trained more than 180,000 talents of all kinds, and has made important contributions to the economic and social development and stability of the country and ethnic regions.

Located in the eastern part of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the school is located in Tongliao City, known as "Pearl of Horqin Grassland". It has two campuses, Huolin River and Xilamulun, covering an area of 104.34 million square meters. The building area of the school is 399.6 million square meters. The total value of fixed assets is 1.03 billion yuan. The total value of teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment is 350 million yuan. The library has more than 1.7 million books.

The school has 25 teaching units, 6 teaching assistant units and 1 subsidiary unit. It has 76 undergraduate majors, covering 11 disciplines such as economics, law, pedagogy, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management and art. There are 1 doctoral program of Mongolian Pharmacy serving the special needs of the country, 17 first-level disciplines authorized by master's degree, 7 authorized points for professional master's degree, and professors'self-evaluation rights.

There are 22015 full-time students, including 20 668 ordinary undergraduate students, 319 ordinary college students, 117 minority preparatory students, 894 master's students and 17 doctoral students. There are 365 overseas students and 1961 faculty members, including 1197 full-time teachers, 581 senior titles teachers and 373 doctoral degree teachers. There are also 1894 employees in affiliated hospitals, of whom 569 are doctors and 109 have full and senior titles. Among the teaching staff, there are 19 experts who enjoy special allowances from the State Council Government, 1 national advanced worker, 2 National "May 1" labor medal winners, 2 national outstanding teachers, 1 national outstanding ideological and political theory teachers, and 2 members of the National College Teaching Steering Committee. The school has implemented the "Flexible Talents Introduction Plan" with 146 high-level talents, including 5 academicians, 2 members of the Academy of Social Sciences, 3 "Yangtze River Scholars" and 1 national outstanding youth. It has implemented the "Horqin Scholars" plan and selected 441 "Horqin Scholars" in 10 sessions. It has implemented the "Model Course Teachers Plan" and has selected 38 people in 4 sessions.

At present, there is one national teaching team, including three national specialties, one pilot specialty of comprehensive reform, one specialty of "Excellent Doctor (TCM) Education Training Plan" project, one pilot project of comprehensive reform of production-university cooperation specialty, one national experimental teaching demonstration center, one clinical teaching training demonstration center, one off-campus practical education base for college students, and one innovation project for College students. There are 1 entrepreneurship training base, 1 pilot specialty of comprehensive reform at the autonomous region level, 4 key construction specialties, 18 brand specialties, 6 experimental teaching demonstration centers, 41 top-quality courses and 12 teaching teams. The school has 16 provincial and ministerial key disciplines (including key cultivation disciplines); 25 provincial and ministerial research platforms, including 1 National Civil Affairs Commission-Ministry of Education Key Laboratory, 16 Autonomous Region Key Laboratories (Engineering Center), 1 National Civil Affairs Commission Humanities and Social Sciences Research Base, 1 National Social Science Popularization Base, 1 Research Base of State General Administration of Sports, and 5 Research Bases of Autonomous Region. One. There are one provincial and ministerial collaborative innovation center and four provincial and ministerial science and technology innovation teams. Since the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, it has won 89 projects from the National Social Science Foundation, 151 projects from the National Natural Science Foundation, 1043 papers retrieved by SCI, EI and CPCI, 1 second prize for scientific and technological progress and 142 awards for various scientific research at the autonomous region level. There are six editions of journals published at home and abroad, of which the Social Sciences Edition (Chinese) is the core journal of Chinese humanities and Social Sciences (extended edition). The Research on Ethnic Higher Education is the first professional journal to study ethnic higher education in China. The genetic map of Mongolian population published in the top international Genetics journal Nature Genetics (impact factor 27.35).

The school is the training unit of scholarship overseas students of the Chinese government. It has 32 foreign universities such as the Russian National University of Briat, the Russian National Agricultural University of Briat, the Mongolian National University of Education, the Mongolian National Medical University, the Irish National Kok University, Weber State University, the Japanese University of Vietnam Education, Jiangyuan University of Korea, the European Union of Pacific Universities and so on. It has established friendly and cooperative relations with the Institution. Relying on location advantages, the school fully responds to China's "one belt and one way" initiative, and has signed an agreement with the National Medical University of Mongolia, the National Education University of Mongolia, and Russia's Kasetsart University to jointly train doctors and teachers, and to cooperate in the project of "2+2". Among them, cooperation and exchanges with Mongolian National Medical University have achieved the most remarkable results. In Mongolia, key laboratories for Mongolian medicine research and development, pharmaceutical factories for Mongolian medicine, international Mongolian medical hospitals and joint research centers for Mongolian medicine have been established. The school is the project training unit of the International Undergraduate Academic Mutual Recognition Course (ISEC) of the State Overseas Studies Fund Committee, and has six specialties of ISEC. Joint training program of double bachelor's degree in nursing with Thomas University in the United States.

Mongolian medicine is a characteristic and advantageous subject of our university. In 2012 Mongolian medicine was approved to serve the national special needs of doctoral personnel training project. In 2015 Mongolian medicine was approved by the Ministry of Education "Excellent Doctor Training Plan". It was awarded more than 300 national scientific research projects, with a funding of more than 80 million yuan. It is in a leading position at home and abroad in discipline construction, personnel training and the combination of production, learning and research. In Mongolian medicine, teaching, scientific research and clinical personnel are relatively concentrated, laboratory equipment and clinical teaching conditions are superior, research direction is clear and national characteristics are distinct important personnel training base and academic research base.

Currently, there is one affiliated hospital directly under the Central Government, which is the third-class and first-class comprehensive hospital for ethnic minorities. It is the only national key integrated Mongolian and Western medicine hospital in China. It is also the national examination point for licensed doctors, the first national standardized training base for Mongolian residents and the standardized training base for clinical residents. There are 1570 health technicians (including doctors, nurses, laboratories, pharmacists, etc.) who are open to the public. There are 1500 beds. There are four non-affiliated hospitals, the Second Affiliated Hospital (Inner Mongolia Forestry General Hospital), the Third Affiliated Hospital (Chifeng Second Hospital), and the Hulunbeir Clinical Medical College (Hulunbeir People's Hospital). Affiliated Mongolian Medical Hospital (Tongliao Mongolian Medical Center Hospital) is under construction.

In recent years, the school has won many honors. In 2009, the school was appraised as the national "model collective of national unity and progress", in 2012 as the "advanced unit of regional foreign cultural exchange work", in 2017 as the "advanced collective of regional national unity and progress", in 2014, the Affiliated Hospital and Mongolian Medical College were appraised as the "model collective of national unity and progress" and the "advanced collective of national education system".
