Study in Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics
Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, founded in October 1952, is one of the first aviation colleges and universities established by New China itself. In 1978, it was designated as a national key university by the State Council; in 1981, it was approved by the State Council as the first batch of universities with the right to grant doctoral degrees; in 1996, it entered the national "211 Project" construction; in 2000, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to set up graduate schools; in 2011, it became a key construction University of "985 project superiority discipline innovation platform"; in 2017, it entered the national "double-first-class" construction sequence. The school is now under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In December 2012, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Civil Aviation Administration of China signed an agreement to build Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
In the course of more than 60 years'schooling, Nanhang people adhere to the tradition of "serving the country by air", follow the fine school style of "unity, frugality, simplicity, realism and innovation", practice the school motto of "wisdom, all things, the way to the world", bathe the wind and bathe the rain, forge ahead, and constantly promote the rapid development of the school. At present, the school has become a research university with the characteristics of aviation, aerospace and civil aviation. During the 11th Five-Year Plan period, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology awarded the title of "Special Excellent School" for the project of improving the school-running level. The school now has 16 colleges and 160 scientific research institutes, including 1 National Key Laboratory, 2 National Key Laboratories of National Defense Science and Technology, 1 National Joint Engineering Laboratory, 1 National Center for Research and Application of National Defense Science, Technology and Industry Technology, 1 National Center for Cultural Industry Research, 2 National Teaching Bases for Basic Engineering Courses, and 4 National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centers. There are 55 undergraduate majors, 33 master-level subject authorization points, 17 doctoral-level subject authorization points and 16 post-doctoral mobile stations. There are 2 national key disciplines in aerospace science, technology and mechanics, 9 national key disciplines in secondary disciplines, 2 national key disciplines (cultivation) and 10 national defense characteristic disciplines.
The school has two campuses, the Ming Palace Museum and General Road, covering an area of 2077 mu, with a building area of 1.48 million square meters. The library collects more than 2.78 million printed documents and 11.2 million volumes of various electronic and digital literature information resources. There are 3 072 faculty members, including 1 821 full-time faculty members. Among the full-time teachers, there are 1 260 senior titles, 516 doctoral supervisors, 10 academicians and double-hired academicians, 21 "Thousand-Person Plan", 20 "Yangtze River Scholars", 6 outstanding youth fund recipients, 3 national famous teaching teachers, 26 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions at the national and provincial levels. They have been elected to more than 600 national and provincial-ministerial-level talent plans and enjoy the special features of the State Council Government. There are 147 specialists in special allowances. There are more than 29,000 full-time students, including more than 18,000 undergraduates, more than 10,000 postgraduates, more than 1,000 foreign degree students and nearly 5,000 adult education students.
The school has become an important base for training high-level talents. Since its establishment, the school has trained more than 160,000 senior professionals for the country. Among the alumni, 14 academicians of the two academies, dozens of provincial and ministerial party and government leaders and generals, as well as a large number of well-known scientific and technological experts and management experts have emerged. The school is committed to training high-quality citizens and future pioneers, constantly pushing forward educational and teaching reform, gradually establishing an innovative talent training system with the characteristics of South China Airlines, and has achieved a number of high-level teaching results. A total of 18 national awards for teaching achievements, 6 National Excellent Doctoral dissertations, 15 National Excellent Doctoral dissertations, 11 national excellent courses and 6 national excellent video open course construction projects were awarded. There are five national excellent teaching teams, six national characteristic majors (construction points), eight key majors of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and seven national defense key majors and shortage majors (directions). Southern Airlines students have made a number of remarkable achievements in various competitions at all levels: won the championship of the Airbus Global College Students Aviation Creative Competition in 2011; in the national "Challenge Cup" competition for college students'extracurricular academic and technological works, our school has won eight consecutive "Winning Cups", a total of 9 first-class prizes and 17 first-class prizes. In the "Creating Youth" National College Students Entrepreneurship Competition, many innovations have been made and successively won the "Winning Cup". In the "Zhou Peiyuan Cup" National College Students Mechanics Competition, "China Software Cup" National College Students Software Design Competition, Mathematical Modeling Competition, Electronic Design Competition and other competitions, Nanhang students have repeatedly lost their laurels.
The ability of scientific research in schools has been continuously enhanced. Since its establishment, the school has won nearly 1525 awards for scientific and technological achievements at or above the provincial level, including 76 national awards, four national research platforms such as the State Key Laboratory of Mechanical Structural Mechanics and Control, and 46 provincial research platforms. It has contributed several first to the Republic, including the first unmanned large-scale target aircraft, the first unmanned nuclear test sampler and the first plateau in China. Unmanned aerial vehicle, the first unmanned helicopter, the first micro air vehicle and so on, the self-developed "Tianxun 1" micro satellite was successfully launched. In the basic research field, the school has made a number of important theoretical achievements at home and abroad, such as "helicopter generalized eddy current theory", "vibration control system non-linear dynamics theory", "aircraft manufacturing coordination accuracy and tolerance allocation theory". In the field of national defense science and technology, the school has participated in the pre-research, technical research and experimental research of almost all important aeronautical models in our country. Many technologies have been successfully applied in the space engineering such as Chang'e-3, which has made an important contribution to the development of Aeronautics and Astronautics in our country. In the field of national economy, learning
