The School of Historical Evolution was formerly Shenyang State Senior School of Nursing and Maternity, which was founded in 1949. It was renamed Shenyang Medical College in 1978, upgraded to Shenyang Medical College in 1987 and officially renamed Shenyang Medical College. During this period, it moved to the present campus three times and changed its name eight times. In 2001, it moved to the present campus.
