Anshan Normal University is a full-time ordinary undergraduate normal university, located in Anshan City, Liaoning Province, which has the world's first Jade Buddha, Asia's famous hot springs, national attractions Qianshan, China's treasure and jade capital and the iron and steel capital of the motherland.

The school was founded in 1958, restored to Anshan Teachers College in 1978, restored to Anshan Teachers College in 1993, passed the undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of Education in 2004, and was approved to train postgraduates with master's degree in education in 2011. In 2013, the Chinese government scholarship was granted to overseas students receiving institutions in China.

Over the past 60 years, the school has adhered to the motto of "combining knowledge with practice" and adhered to the concept of "educating people first, establishing schools with quality and serving the society". It has steadfastly taken the connotative development path of improving quality as the core, continuously established and perfected the modern university system, formed a fine school-running tradition, and trained the University for the basic education, economic construction and social development of the country. The school has three campuses, covering an area of 750,000 square meters, teaching and scientific research administrative room area of 200,000 square meters. There are 14 secondary branches, 4 public teaching and research departments and 1 affiliated secondary school. Fixed assets are more than 270 million yuan, teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment are worth 11,4095,000 yuan, and libraries have more than 1 million books.

The school has 1086 staff, including 740 full-time teachers, 352 professors and associate professors. Four persons were selected for Liaoning Province's Million Talents Project, including two provincial professional leaders, five provincial famous teaching teachers, two provincial outstanding teachers, one provincial outstanding young backbone teacher, three provincial teaching teams and nearly 50 master's supervisors.

There are seven areas of enrollment for Master of Education in our school, namely, pre-school education and subject teaching (Chinese, mathematics, ideological and political education, chemistry, English and physics). There are 51 full-time undergraduate majors (covering 8 disciplines of arts, science, education, history, management, law, engineering and art) and 45 higher vocational majors. The total number of all kinds of students is nearly 20,000. Among them, 130 graduate students of Master of Education and 12,250 full-time undergraduates have formed an all-round and multi-level school-running pattern from full-time undergraduate education to graduate education, adult education and international student education.

The school has one national demonstration major, one provincial demonstration major, four provincial transformation and development pilot majors and 16 provincial teaching achievement awards; 19 key construction courses, provincial quality courses and network resources courses of the Ministry of Education; 4 planning textbooks and provincial quality textbooks of the Ministry of Education; 2 provincial college students'practice teaching bases and innovation and entrepreneurship practice bases.

In terms of personnel training, the school continuously deepens the reform of personnel training mode and general education, strengthens the advantages and characteristics of teacher education, and vigorously promotes the training of applied talents. At the same time, we should firmly establish the concept of "all-round education, all-round education and all-round education", implement the academic tutorial system in an all-round way, implement the "Runde" voluntary service for college students, and vigorously promote the coordinated development of students'knowledge, ability and quality. The school has 18 disciplines under construction, including 2 provincial key cultivation disciplines and 2 school-level key construction disciplines. During the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period, 7 state-level projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Social Science Foundation were approved, 46 projects of Humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education and Liaoning Natural Science Foundation were approved, and 40 patents were granted by the State. He has sponsored the Journal of Anshan Normal University, and co-sponsored the academic journal "Theorists" with Liaoning Social Sciences Federation. He has jointly published the academic journal "Art Wide Angle" with Liaoning Provincial Literature. The national core journal "Journal of Biomathematics" and its international editorial department are also located in the school.

The school extensively carries out international exchanges and cooperation, actively introduces high-quality educational resources from abroad, continuously improves the level of running schools for foreign students, and realizes the undergraduate enrollment of foreign students majoring in Chinese. Up to now, more than 70 universities and 20 educational and scientific research institutions in more than 20 countries and regions in the world have established friendly cooperative relations and carried out substantive exchanges and cooperation. More than 5000 foreign students from Russia, Poland, Austria, the United States, South Korea, Japan, Spain, Ukraine and other countries have been recruited.
