Suzhou Vocational University is a full-time general college sponsored by the People's Government of Suzhou, which was approved by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and put on record by the Ministry of Education. Its predecessor is the Suzhou Technical College founded in 1911. Since its establishment in 1981, adhering to the school motto of "diligence, courage, loyalty and credibility", it has won a good social reputation and become a regional brand university. The school now has four campuses, Shihu, Ganjiang Road, Tanshan and Official's House Lane, covering an area of 1262 mu, with a building area of 490,000 square meters, a collection of 14,911,000 paper books and a total value of 243 million yuan in teaching and scientific research instruments and equipment.
