    The school was founded in 1971 and has gone through three periods: Dezhou Normal College, Dezhou Higher College and Dezhou College. In May 1971, Dezhou Teachers College was born in the "Cultural Revolution". It went through a difficult journey and grew steadily in the process of standardization and transcendence. In March 1997, Dezhou Normal College, Dezhou Institute of Education and Dezhou City Amateur University merged to form Dezhou Higher Vocational College, which opened a comprehensive way of running schools.
